About Java District

The story behind the platform

Our Story

Java District was born from frustration. Jasper and Steven saw how the recruitment industry treats developers as products in a catalogue. Impersonal InMails, pushy recruiters and a lack of transparency. It had to change.

As Java developers themselves, they knew exactly what was broken. Companies pay €15,000+ per hire to recruiters, while developers get bombarded with irrelevant messages.

So they built Java District: a platform where developers are in control.

Our Values

Developers First

Everything starts with the developer

Every feature, every decision and every priority starts with the question: is this in the developer’s interest? If the answer is no, we don’t do it.

Honest and Direct

No hidden agendas

We say what we do and do what we say. No misleading job titles, no hidden fees, no data being sold behind your back.

Protect the Hive

We protect our community

Java District is a safe place for developers. We filter spam, protect privacy and ensure only serious companies get access.

Work Smart, Play Fair

Fair and efficient

We believe recruitment can be fair, for both sides. Transparent pricing, direct communication and no unnecessary middlemen.
